Incentives Enhancement Programs: Industry Problem

The Problem Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) has presented a current problem for which they require your feedback. They are in the process of reviewing and redeveloping the use of Incentives and Enhancement Programs (IEP) used in correctional centers in Queensland as part of their 2021 business plan.

They ask the following specific questions

1. What does the research say about the effectiveness, benefits and/or limitations of such programs?
2. What is the purpose or rationale for such programs?

Strategy to write the paper How should you write this? Note that QCS is asking for research on how how well these types of ‘earned incentive and privileges’ programs work, but also what the broad purpose or rationale of these programs would be. There are different ways that you could choose to set up a paper like this, but the key will be that you cover these elements.

 

Here is one possibility for a paper outline

 

1.Begin with a brief but clear introduction to the paper.

2. Next, review the domestic and/or international literature on programs that use earned incentives and privileges schemes like the IEP at QCS. Clearly explain how these programs work, and tell the reader what the research says about their effectiveness, benefits and/or limitations. Yes, you can talk about programs in Australia or other countries. Remember though that you don’t have a lot of space to work with so narrow your focus here.

3. Next, think about the purpose or rationale of these earned incentive schemes. Select a punishment rationale that we cover in the class (Reading attached). Define the rationale, then discuss WHETHER OR NOT these incentive schemes are justified based on the rationale, and why this is the case.

4. Finally, write a conclusion that summarises your research and includes a brief recommendation about the use of earned incentive type programs based on your findings.

There are two main questions you need to respond to:

2. What does the research say about the effectiveness, benefits and/or limitations of such programs?

First, you just have to briefly to introduce Queensland’s Incentives and Enhancement Programs (IEP). Second, The focus of this assignment is to find examples of similar programs of IEP. ( Incentives and Enhancements Programs)(Privilege and Benefits) in other jurisdictions(other country, can first start with UK). To evaluate what are the benefits and drawbacks of these programs, and evaluate the rationale of using such programs in those jurisdictions. (all need references) Next, think about the purpose or rationale of these earned incentive schemes.

Select a punishment rationale that we cover in the class (reading I attached). Define the rationale, then discuss WHETHER OR NOT these incentive schemes are justified based on the rationale, and why this is the case. Finally, write a conclusion that summarizes your research. Additionally, include a brief recommendation about the use of earned incentive-type programs based on your findings. Which means apply the results to Queensland to see whether it fits the QCS, but QCS is not the main focus, main focus is similar programs to IEP in other jurisdictions
