Paper details Please address the following prompts; remember: all responses should be in your own words, summarized and paraphrased using your own voice, language, sentence structure from any sources you use. Only one short direct quote is allowed per section. Please cite your sources using APA style conventions (both in-text and a reference page). This forum will address the following Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs): Compare the major theories related to the cognitive, socioemotional (Erikson) and physical (brain) domains of human development across the lifespan and within and across diverse cultures, including the impact of culture and the interaction of nature and nurture

Alzheimer’s Disease

Communicate an understanding of developmental psychology using APA-compliant, clear and effective writing skills Section 1: Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) – be sure you include in-text citations for all questions. I gave you 2 sources to start but you will need to find other sources as well. What is AD? Explain how this disease impacts the brain – what happens in the brain as a result of AD – what are the changes we see? Be sure to use the terminology/vocab (i.e, plaques and tangles; naming parts of the brain) and be descriptive – explain in detail, in your own words. (about 300 words) What are the causes of AD?

Alzheimer’s Disease

Go beyond the brain changes – in other words, why do some people develop AD? What are the risk factors for someone to develop AD – what makes someone more likely to develop it? In this answer, organize it by those that fall to the nature side and those that fall to the nurture side. (about 150 words) How is someone diagnosed? Who can diagnose and what is the process/test? (about 100 words) What are the current treatments for AD? What is their effectiveness? (about 100 words) Section 2: Death and Dying in Other Cultures – remember your in-text citations. Conduct some research that about death rituals and/or dying in other cultures or religions.

Alzheimer’s Disease

Explain the key aspects to how this culture or religion views death, experiences death, processes death etc…Please locate at least 2 sources. (about 300 words) Section 3: Erikson’s Theory – also use in-text citations. For this section, you are going to discuss and apply 3 of Erikson’s stages to either your own life OR some case study that you select. If you select your own life, you do not have to get personal. If it makes you uncomfortable to use yourself or you worry you cannot maintain a professional boundary (this is not therapy ;-), you may select some case study of your choosing. It could be a famous person, a famous case study, or even a character on TV.

You can use the resources I gave for Erikson’s Theory, your textbook, or your own sources (or a combination.) What you will want to do is: Start with an overview of the theory (about 75 words). Based on either your own life or the case you select, take any of Erikson’s 3 stages and explain the conflict Erikson says we experience at that stage. Next, discuss the outcomes that can occur if there is a healthy resolution to the crisis and the outcomes with an unhealthy resolution (this is where your citation goes: after you describe each stage). Finally, explain how this conflict appears or is demonstrated in either your life or your case study. https://youtu.be/v5gdH_Hydes

It is helpful to me if you discuss/explain a stage, then give the application; discuss the next stage and give the application; discuss the final stage and give the application – in 3 separate paragraphs (about 300 words total/100 per stage). Section 4: Build an APA style reference page for all your sources. Remember, they go in ABC order, they are titled References (not Works Cited), and follow a specific format depending on what your source is: a textbook, web page, article.
