Human genetics and eugenics

This week, we are learning about issues surrounding human genetics and eugenics, including stem cell research, cloning, and genetic testing and treatment. Choose and describe a scientific technique or practice related to genetics and eugenics. Provide the rationale behind the use of this technique or practice. Discuss your thoughts and ideas regarding the technique or practice. Is it ever justifiable? Why or why not? Respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings. Classmate 1 post: Human cloning has two different applications, these applications are reproductive and research cloning.

Human genetics and eugenics

Clonal human embryo is utilized for experimental drives in research cloning also, referred to as “somatic cell nuclear transfer”. Somatic cell nuclear transfer is a laboratory technique where the nucleus taken from another somatic cell for example muscle or skin is transmitted to a female egg where genetic material has been detached, the end result of this technique is Clonal Embryo. On the other hand, reproductive cloning is the formation of a clonal human embryo that isn’t used for investigational purposes but rather implanted in a female’s womb and presented as a born kid (Ardekani, 2010).

Human genetics and eugenics

This process has been used to clone different types of animals for instance, cows, rabbits only a small percentage of embryos survive to birth. After learning about the two applications I am in support of human cloning because, it would help scientists’ method for reproductive cloning which would beneficial. Classmate 2 post: Eugenics is a process of selectively choosing human breeding to generate desirable genetics among the humans. Eugenics was discovered to have that perfect child with all the desirable characteristics like intelligence, good body structure, better physical appearance.  https://youtu.be/VSy8KVXRgKM

Strain and learning theory 2022 Best

Strain and learning theory

This assignment focuses on theory and ideology, demonstrates the difference by explaining the arguments of a control, a strain and learning theory, being sure to highlight the distinction.

Strain and learning theory

This is a comprehensive essay exam worth one hundred points of the final grade. Demonstrated mastery of the subject matter is the basis of student scores. Students receive points on their essays by correctly applying relevant course material, logically connecting conclusions to the materials referenced, and providing a thoughtful, well-written discussion Based on your review of theories covered during the semester, what three theories hold the greatest potential to make society safer if implemented in criminal justice policy and practice.

Strain and learning theory

Provide a thorough overview of the three explanations selected using Akers’ criteria for evaluating theories, paying special attention to the empirical validity and policy implications of the arguments. Discuss whether it would be possible to integrate these theories into one more powerful explanation. If so, demonstrate how. If not, explain why not. Intelligence has been a concept linked to criminal behavior for more than a century. Explain an early and a contemporary argument of intelligence and crime. Assess both using the criteria for evaluating theory.

Strain and learning theory

Given the challenges with these arguments, explain why intelligence remains a variable in explanations of crime. Classical Deterrence Theory provides the theoretical basis for the legal process in the United States. Review the argument, its modern updates, and expansions to the concept of deterrence. In your opinion, is it possible to improve a contemporary policy like the death penalty to increase the deterrent effect? If so, explain how. If not, explain why not. Explain the difference in the underlying assumption of control theories compared to other sociological theories of crime causation.

Strain and learning theory

Demonstrate the difference by explaining the arguments of a control theory, a strain theory, and a learning theory, being sure to highlight the distinction. Explain the difference between racist, race-neutral, and race-inclusive theories. Discuss three theories of Black criminology. In addition to explaining the argument, be sure to highlight how each theory is an example of Black Criminology as opposed to racist or race-neutral theory. https://youtu.be/YzXgdWQ-Fwg
